Frederick Loren Riley, 84, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. Fred was born in Evansville, Indiana on May 9, 1928 to the late Loren and Vernita (Atkinson) Riley. Fred retired from L & N Railroad after working for over 35 years. After he retired from the railroad, he enjoyed working at Arc Lanes. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and the Hadi Temple. Fred loved being outside working in his yard and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Fred is survived by his son, Ronald G. Riley (Debbie) of Evansville, IN; step-daughter, Deborah Hupp of Evansville, IN; daughter-in-law, Katie Riley of CO; sisters, Toni Jocham (Bob), Dorothy Glaser (Steve), Doris Vincent (Ted); brothers, Doug Riley (Marilyn), Mac Riley (Miriam), Wayne Riley (Phyllis); grandchildren, Nichole Riley-Doud (Jonathan), Jeremy Riley (Stephanie), Shawn Riley, Tiffany Boyd (Jimmy), Zachary Lancaster, Quinn Riley, Taylor Riley; 5 great-grandchildren; uncle, Morris Riley (Dee); and several nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Riley in 2002; son, Stephen L. Riley in 2009; his parents and a sister, Fern Hodge. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Denny Stevenson officiating. Entombment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may visit from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Browning Funeral Home.
