Obituary:
Gladiola (Fireline) Dockery, 97, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at home. Gladiola was born in Madisonville, Kentucky on September 29, 1914 to the late Georgiana (Burden) and James B. Fireline. She worked at Briggs Aircraft during World War II as a riveter. Gladiola was a lifelong member of New Haven Baptist Church in Evansville. She spent the majority of her life as a homemaker. Her family was everything to her. Gladiola is survived by her daughters, Linda Gae Miller (Terrell) of Evansville and Faith Trout (Wes) of Evansville; son, Gene Dockery (Barbara) of Chandler IN; daughter-in-law Shirley Dockery of Kentucky; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and great great-grandchildren. Gladiola is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, P. Glover Dockery in 1998; her parents; her brothers, Teddy, Clint, and Lee; her son, Oliver Glenn Dockery; and her grandson, Glenn Eric "Rick" Dockery. Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Browning Funeral Home 738 Diamond Ave. with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Browder Cemetery in Hopkins County, KY. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. prior to the services on Wednesday. 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Browning Funeral Home 738 Diamond Ave. with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Browder Cemetery in Greenville, KY.
