Obituaries

Bobby Joe Stansell, 79, passed away on May 12, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, Indiana. Bob was born in Villanow, GA. He served in the United States Army and spent 16 months in Korea with the 91st MP Battalion. Bob worked for Chrysler Corporation and was actively involved in the UAW, working his way up to President of Local 136, Fenton, MO. He was appointed to the International Union Staff for Chrysler in Detroit, MI and served as Assistant Director and Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of the Chrysler Department. He retired in 1989. Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Tootie, his stepdaughter, Alice Sexton (Tony), 2 grandsons, David Sexton (Missy), Jeff Sexton (Sara) and 4 great grandchildren all of Evansville, IN, brother, Riley Stansell of Columbus, GA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Heritage Funeral Home, 3239 Battlefield Parkway, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. Burial will be held at Macedonia Cemetery in Villanow, GA. Friends may visit from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Heritage Funeral Home.
