Samuel Geller,M.D., 87, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Golden Living Center Brentwood.
Dr. Geller graduated early from Central High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and immediately began studying to become a doctor. He graduated from Indiana University Medical School in 1948. Dr. Geller also served in the U.S. Navy and Army as part of the Medical Corps during World War II. He practiced medicine for over 50 years in Evansville and Owensville, Indiana. During most of this period he had his own private practice which he referred to as his "store". Dr. Geller was a past member of the Hadi Shriners and the Jaycee's. He enjoyed basking in the sun and playing tennis in his limited free time.
Samuel is survived by: his wife of 14 years, Nancy (Rolley) Corey-Geller of Evansville; Daughters: Dr. Carol McKown (George) of Indianapolis, IN, Tina St.Clair ( Scott) of Leesburg, Fl, Lisa James ( Todd) of Evansville and
Tracie Lloyd (Darren) of Wadesville, IN; Sons: Dr. Schuyler Geller (Dixie) of Germany, Stephen Geller (Debbie) of Paris, TN and Chris Hadley (Dawn) of Evansville; 18 Grandchildren; Sisters: Dorothy Siegel of Baltimore, MD and Sylvia Levine of Philadelphia, PA.
Samuel is preceded in death by his first wife of 47 years, Marcella Geller in 1995 and his parents, Ida (Schonbaum) and Isador Geller.
