Obituaries

Edith Beatrice (Hood) Youngblood, 95, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital.

Edith was born in Piggott, Arkansas on February 11, 1917 to the late Claude and Maude (Goodwin) Hood. Edith worked as an LPN at Welborn Hospital in the recovery unit for 15 years, retiring in 1978. She was a faithful member of Olivet Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Edith enjoyed reading, working in the yard and gardening tomatoes and flowers. She was also a member of the Robert Morris Eastern Stars. Edith loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


Edith is survived by her daughter, Linda D. Hudson (David) of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Carey Hudson (Tracey) of Evansville, IN, Casey Hudson (Holly) of Evansville, IN; great-grandchildren, Jossie Marie Hudson, Braidyn Joel Hudson, Brockton James Hudson, Ashley Mayo and Andrew Baum.

Edith is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Theodore Paul Youngblood; her son, Daryl Youngblood, and her parents.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, June 11, 2012 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, Indiana 47711 with Pastor David Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until service time at Browning Funeral Home.
