Obituaries

Mary Catherine Kluge, 88, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Heritage Center.

Mary was born in Golconda, Illinois on December 19, 1923 to Harry G. and Lula Bell (Bunn) Kluge. Mary graduated from Golconda Community High School in May 30, 1941. She worked for Ingle Coal Corporation from April 1, 1945 to June of 1966 when she retired. Mary loved to travel and she frequently traveled with the Ingle family to Algeria and Palm Springs, Florida. When Mary retired, she settled on the west side and built a log cabin which was her favorite home. Mary was the daughter of Harry G. Kluge, who was the former Mayor of Golconda, Illinois. She was an avid lover of all sports, especially the Ace's, where she followed Arad McCuthan, the coach for the University of Evansville. Music was also a passion of Mary's.


Mary is survived by her longtime friends, Carol Burgdorf (Gary) of Evansville, IN and Kenny Miller and their families of Evansville, IN.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may visit from 8:00 AM until 9:00 AM, Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, Indiana 47711.

A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Golconda, Illinois.
