Obituary:Frederick C. Meyers, 65, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at his residence.
Fred was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 18, 1947 to Frances "Bud" and Barbara "Babs" (Nietzsche) Meyers.
Fred was a veteran of the United States Army and graduated from St. Louis University in 1969 with a Bachelor degree in History and Political Science. He retired in 2002 from the U.S. Postal Service as the Director of Operations of Postmasters in the State of Kentucky after 37 years of service. Fred was on the National Association of Postal Supervisors, Evansville Branch 55, where he was past President, Vice President and Chairman of the Constitution and Bylaw Committee Four National Convention and was a legislative representative in Washington D.C. for ten years. He was on the board of directors at the Evansville Federal Credit Union for the last twelve years. Fred was a member of the Riverbend Association and the AMVETS Post #84. He enjoyed playing golf, cards, shuffleboard, darts and pool, and going to the beach in Jamaica. Fred was a fan of Jimmy Buffet and considered himself a "Parrothead".
Fred is survived by his wife, Lori (Edmonson) Hofmann Meyers; son, Jeff Meyers of Nashville, TN; daughter, Rebecca Southard (Brian) of Henderson, KY; granddaughter, Ellie Southard; father and mother-in-law, Larry and Janet Edmonson of Evansville, IN; sister-in-law, Gayle Edmonson of Evansville, IN and many, many friends.
Fred is preceded in death by parents, grandchildren, Madison and Gracie Southard, and his first wife, Linda Meyers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., with Pastor Sean Esterline officiating. Burial will be held at Lutheran Cemetery with Military Rites by Retired Veterans Memorial Club.
Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 and after 12:00 noon on Thursday at Browning Funeral Home.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 and after 12:00 noon on Thursday at Browning Funeral Home.
