Obituary:
Mary Catherine (Becker) Murphy, 90, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at her residence.

Mary was born in Evansville, Indiana on July 21, 1921 to the late Peter J. and Marie (Lehmeier) Becker. She graduated from Memorial High School in 1941 and graduated from Lockyear Business College in 1943. Mary retired from the Veteran Administration in 1987. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church for 59 years. Mary was very intelligent and loved caring for her flowers. She was also a prize winning seamstress. She will be deeply missed.

Mary is survived by her husband of 59 years, James William "Bill" Murphy; son, Matthew Murphy; sisters, Joanne Bauer, Marilyn Pruiett (James), Peggy Becker; brothers, William C. Becker and Richard Becker; grandchildren, Ryan and Alan Murphy.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; son, Patrick; and her brothers, Edward and Jack.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, April 9, 2012 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 600 Herndon Dr., Evansville, IN 47711. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 and from 9:00 AM until service time on Monday at church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Theresa Catholic Church.
