Jeannie Browning Hester
Funeral Director, CEO and
Owner of Browning Funeral Home

Jeannie grew up in Evansville, Indiana and graduated from Memorial High School in 1976. She continued her education at Indiana University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree from the Kelley School of Business at I.U. She later joined her father Charles in 1982 while attending Mid America College of Funeral Service. After graduation in 1983, with an Associates degree in Mortuary Science Jeannie worked side by side with her father. Together they inspired each other to serve the families of Evansville in a caring and compassionate manner. This father/daughter team was a one of kind in the funeral services profession.

Jeannie married Don Hester in 1988. They have three children; Jacob, Emilie and Jenifer. Jeannie loves being a mom!! Her son Jacob attends Central High School and is the quarterback of the freshman football team. She stays busy with his school activities. Jeannie enjoys spending time with her family, photography, scrap booking, swimming, and her cats. The Hester family attends Christian Fellowship Church.

Jeannie has been instrumental in creating the Browning Experience for the families served by Browning Funeral Home. Recently, since the death of our founder, Charles H. Browning, Jeannie has taken over as the leader of our team, guiding our way through the challenges to enable Browning Funeral Home to serve the needs of our community and the needs of each individual family we serve. Jeannie is flexible and able to wear many hats—kind and gentle to those we serve, and a visionary, motivator and leader to those who work with us. Jeannie is like the wind that guides us through the maze. She is the soft breeze gently comforting those in need, she ruffles the staff to meet the deadlines and be ready for change with vision toward the future. Her kind and giving nature comes from her heart as the warm wind blows; she creates an ambiance of warmth and love that surrounds the families served by Browning. Jeannie softly leads the Browning Funeral Family business to new levels, seeking to be the best we can be, always placing the families first in our hearts, and constantly, striving for a more compassionate way to comfort those we serve.

Jeannie’s goal is for every family served to be able to express their loved one’s Life Journey in a memorable way. A funeral is not a day in a lifetime, it is a lifetime in a day.
